The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries said on the 20th that it is expected that by 2050, global demand for natural gas will increase to more than 91 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, an increase of more than 19 million barrels of oil equivalent over 2025. According to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, natural gas will further consolidate its long-term position in the global primary energy structure, replace coal for the most part, and support intermittent renewable energy in the field of power generation. Demand growth mainly comes from non-OECD regions, driven by natural gas power generation, expansion of gas use in the petrochemical industry, and increased demand from the residential sector. Meanwhile, OECD gas demand is expected to stabilize and decline slightly after 2040 due to improved energy efficiency and stricter emissions policies.
