On August 20, the Ministry of Transport held a special press conference on innovative actions for “artificial intelligence+transportation” typical application scenarios. Xu Wenqiang, director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Transport, said that the overall trend in the development of artificial intelligence applications is full integration and accelerated application. “One network, four modernizations” is the main theme line for high-quality development of integrated transportation at present and in the coming period. Among them, the second is to enable the improvement of security through model changes. In the past, traffic safety management was mainly based on “ex post facto investigation and punishment, manual inspection”. Labor costs were high and risk detection was lagging behind. Using artificial intelligence to promote safety management from “ex post facto treatment” to “advance warning”, and from “mainly human defense” to “technical defense and intelligent defense” is a key consideration and promotion of the Ministry of Transport. For example, artificial intelligence has been applied to vehicle active safety warning systems, which can effectively identify drivers' behaviors such as fatigued driving, distracted driving, etc., and warn and intervene in a timely manner. The recognition accuracy rate is over 95%.
