Recently, some museum exhibitions have had problems such as typographical errors and inappropriate expressions, which have attracted great attention from the public. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage issued a notice on the 19th to deploy a comprehensive strengthening of the content review of museum displays. The notice suggests that all provincial cultural relics administration departments should act quickly, immediately organize and carry out special inspection and rectification work on the contents of museum displays and exhibitions under their jurisdiction, adhere to the principles of immediate knowledge and reform, and ensure that the problem is resolved dynamically. According to the notice, the inspection targets and scope are: basic displays, permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibition contents of all registered museums within the jurisdiction, as well as public service information such as various guide signs, notices, reminders, etc. The inspection focuses on: the establishment and implementation of a system for reviewing the contents of museum exhibitions; whether there are problems such as poor logic, typos, misuse of punctuation, etc.; whether there are problems such as deviations in basic information on the exhibits, inaccurate chronological labeling, and misuse of data charts; whether the drawing, labeling, and legends of maps, historical maps, and regional maps are standardized; and whether there are issues relating to major historical events, revolutionary movements, famous people, and inaccurate or misdirected content involving nations, religion, and frontiers. The notice emphasizes that each museum should carefully review the content of exhibitions held at or under the name of the museum, strictly implement the ideological work responsibility system, clarify who is responsible for all aspects of the exhibition, and ensure that responsibility is assigned to people. The person in charge of the exhibition shall regularly inspect the exhibition hall and immediately rectify any problems with the contents of the exhibition. If the person in charge of the exhibition verifies that the contents of the exhibition are incorrect, they shall complete the correction and give feedback within the same day.
