According to Baogang Group, recently, the “Ultra-Dry Anhydrous Scandium Chloride Preparation Process Development” project led by the Rare Earth Crystal Materials Research and Development Center of the Tianjin Branch of the Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute achieved a breakthrough in core technology and successfully prepared ultra-dry anhydrous scandium chloride products with a water content of less than 50 parts per million. This achievement indicates that the Institute has fully mastered all rare earth anhydrous halide synthesis techniques, filling the gap in the development of high-end scandium rare earth functional materials in China. The successful development of ultra-dry anhydrous scandium chloride products completed the final piece of the puzzle in China's rare earth anhydrous halide technology landscape. The products can be widely used in laser crystal preparation, special light source production, radiation detection equipment, fuel cells, and high-safety lithium batteries to provide key material support for China's low-altitude economic development and new energy system construction.
