Insiders who bought Cavalier Resources Ltd (ASX:CVR) stock in the last 12 months were richly rewarded last week. The company's market value increased by AU$3.4m as a result of the stock's 15% gain over the same period. As a result, the stock they originally bought for AU$99.7k is now worth AU$130.1k.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Cavalier Resources Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The insider Ross Johns made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for AU$100k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.23 each. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of AU$0.30. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.
