According to data released by Eurostat on the 14th, after seasonal adjustments, EU greenhouse gas emissions in the first quarter of 2026 were about 837 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, an increase of 0.3% over the fourth quarter of 2025. Over the same period, the EU's GDP remained unchanged month-on-month. Compared with the same period last year, EU greenhouse gas emissions fell by 1.2% in the first quarter and GDP increased by 0.8%, indicating that while EU economic activity continued to grow, overall greenhouse gas emissions declined.
