The Zhitong Finance App learned that CINNO Research published an article stating that in August, demand in the mobile phone panel market weakened further compared to July, and the momentum of terminals to pull goods slowed down markedly. Due to multiple factors such as early overdrafts of early Q3'26 orders, continued high costs of core components such as upstream memory, and conservative terminal procurement strategies, the operating rate of various technology routes is generally under pressure. Terminal manufacturers put forward more aggressive price pressure demands during price negotiations. It is expected that LCD prices will remain stable in August, and the overall decline in OLED prices will expand further compared to previous expectations.

a-Si side: Demand on the brand side declined markedly in August, and the overdraft effect of early stocking in the second quarter continued to ferment. Due to the impact of rising prices of materials such as ICs and FPCs, module side costs are still in the upward range, but against the backdrop of weakening terminal demand, there are no favorable factors to support the rise in module prices in the short term. The price of a-Si modules is expected to remain stable in August, but there is a risk of further contraction in subsequent purchases;
LTPS side: In addition to the contraction in demand for mobile phone panels, terminal demand for applications such as notebook and tablet, which previously supported the LTPS production line utilization rate, also declined, causing the overall LTPS production line operation rate to continue to decline. It is expected that LTPS mobile phone panel prices will continue to decline steadily and slightly in August. Prices for new projects will be lowered, and subsequent declines may expand as demand for terminals weakens;
On the AMOLED side: As demand for terminals weakens further, rigid AMOLED prices are also showing signs of falling. It is expected that prices will continue to fall at a low level in August; flexible AMOLED is affected by the cost impact of a sharp increase in memory prices. Panel manufacturers continue to make concessions and cut prices during the bargaining process in order to seize market share and lock down terminal projects. Demand for superimposed terminals has declined sharply, and the conflict between supply and demand in the market has further intensified. Terminals have put forward more aggressive price reduction demands. It is expected that the price decline of Q3'26 flexible AMOLED panels will increase, and the “price for volume” trend in the market will upgrade;
CINNO Research predicts that in August and September 2026, a-Si module prices will remain stable; LTPS panel prices will steadily drop slightly; rigid AMOLED panel prices will decline at a low level; and flexible AMOLED panel prices will expand.
