Last week saw the newest interim earnings release from Tecan Group AG (VTX:TECN), an important milestone in the company's journey to build a stronger business. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. So we gathered the latest post-earnings forecasts to see what estimates suggest is in store for next year.
Following last week's earnings report, Tecan Group's eight analysts are forecasting 2026 revenues to be CHF886.4m, approximately in line with the last 12 months. Tecan Group is also expected to turn profitable, with statutory earnings of CHF5.11 per share. In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of CHF883.6m and earnings per share (EPS) of CHF4.67 in 2026. So the consensus seems to have become somewhat more optimistic on Tecan Group's earnings potential following these results.

The consensus price target was unchanged at CHF183, implying that the improved earnings outlook is not expected to have a long term impact on value creation for shareholders. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. The most optimistic Tecan Group analyst has a price target of CHF222 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at CHF160. Analysts definitely have varying views on the business, but the spread of estimates is not wide enough in our view to suggest that extreme outcomes could await Tecan Group shareholders.
Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. For example, we noticed that Tecan Group's rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with revenues forecast to exhibit 3.7% growth to the end of 2026 on an annualised basis. That is well above its historical decline of 2.7% a year over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to see their revenue grow 11% per year. So although Tecan Group's revenue growth is expected to improve, it is still expected to grow slower than the industry.
The biggest takeaway for us is the consensus earnings per share upgrade, which suggests a clear improvement in sentiment around Tecan Group's earnings potential next year. Fortunately, the analysts also reconfirmed their revenue estimates, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Although our data does suggest that Tecan Group's revenue is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for Tecan Group going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here..
