The China Steel Association released a quarterly report on steel social inventory monitoring in early August. At the beginning of August, social stocks of the five major types of steel in 21 cities were 9.86 million tons, an increase of 60,000 tons over the previous year, up 0.6%. Inventory fluctuated slightly; 2.65 million tons, up 36.8% from the beginning of the year; and 1.83 million tons, up 22.8% from the same period last year.
