France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Health Service reported on August 12, local time, that from June 1 to August 10, a total of 41 cases of legionnaires' disease were reported in the Savoy department in the region. Two patients aged 80 and over died. The health department is investigating the source of pollution. Currently, samples have been carried out at about 30 locations, including water supply systems, cooling towers, supermarkets, and restaurants in collective houses. The first batch of test results is expected to be announced before August 17.
