SYS6037 injection (monkeypox mRNA vaccine), a subsidiary of CSPC Innovation (300765.SZ), was approved for US drug clinical trials

(hereinafter referred to as “Jushi Bio”), the holding subsidiary of the company, recently received a notice from the US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) that the SYS6037 injection (monkeypox mRNA vaccine) drug developed by Jushi Biotech in cooperation with the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been approved by the US FDA to conduct clinical trials in the US.

Monkeypox is caused by the monkeypox virus, which belongs to the genus Poxviridae. SYS6037 injection is a multi-antigen monkeypox vaccine encoded by a single mRNA chain for the prevention of monkeypox. Its simple technical route is conducive to quality control in the production process, and can significantly reduce production costs, thereby improving the controllability and accessibility of vaccines. Preclinical studies have shown that compared to the live attenuated vaccine (Tiantan strain), SYS6037 injection has better immunogenicity and protective efficacy, and shows broad-spectrum cross-response to various orthopedic virus antigens. It is expected to become a market-competitive monkeypox vaccine product, further enriching the company's mRNA vaccine innovation product pipeline.
