Italy's El.En. to Sell Majority Stake in Laser Systems Manufacturing Business to Germany's Trumpf group

02:34 AM EDT, 08/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- El.En. (ELN.MI) agreed to sell an 80% stake in a newly established unit of its Cutlite Penta subsidiary to Germany's Trumpf Cutlite Penta for an estimated Cutlite Penta price of 21 million euros. Under the terms announced Friday, Trumpf International will acquire a majority stake in the new unit, in which Cutlite Penta will transfer its activities related to manufacturing high-performance laser systems to cut materials. The Italy-based laser technology group El.En. plans to retain a 20% stake in the unit for three years. It will receive 13 million euros at the closing of the deal, with the remaining tied to the unit's financial performance as of Dec. 31, 2029. Subject to regulatory clearances and certain other conditions, the transaction is expected to close in six months.
