Spokane County in the northwestern US state of Washington and surrounding areas are being burnt by three wildfires, and more than 60,000 people have been asked to evacuate. The county's sheriff announced on the evening of the 3rd that an arson suspect in connection with one of the wildfires had been arrested. Spokane County Sheriff John Nowells reported that the suspect's name is Alan Farinach. He is 37 years old and a Spokane County resident. He was taken into custody on the 3rd on first-degree arson charges, and the bail was set at $1 million. He is suspected of igniting roadside grass, triggering one of the three wildfires that broke out in the county on the 1st. Investigations into the causes of the other two wildfires are still ongoing. Farinac was initially detained on the 1st due to eyewitness reports and then released after being interrogated on the same day; after investigators obtained more evidence, Farinac was taken into custody again on the afternoon of the 2nd. The Public Prosecution Service has filed a lawsuit against it. According to the file, Farinacci committed manslaughter in another unrelated case in Arizona. As of the 3rd, about 64,000 people had received evacuation orders in Spokane County and surrounding areas.
