Haite Biotech (300683.SZ) shares in ZM-02 ophthalmic injection approved for clinical trials

Zhitong Finance App News, Haite Biotech (300683.SZ) issued an announcement. Recently, the company's shareholding company Zhongmou Medical Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. (“Zhongmu Medical”) received the “Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice” approved and issued by the State Drug Administration. Its self-developed clinical trial application for ZM-02 ophthalmic injection has been approved by the State Drug Administration, agreeing to carry out clinical trials for the treatment of advanced retinitis pigmentosa.

According to reports, ZM-02 is a next-generation optogenetic gene therapy independently developed by Zhongmu Medical to treat advanced retinal degenerative diseases. The therapy delivers the novel photosensitive protein gene to retinal cells through a single vitreous injection, so that patients can still sense light signals even when they lack functional photoreceptors. Unlike traditional therapies targeting specific gene mutations, ZM-02 uses a strategy that is not genetically mutation-dependent and can be widely applied to hereditary and acquired retinal degenerative diseases (such as age-related macular degeneration).
