According to news from Ningde Times, recently, Ningde Times signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Pinglu Canal Group. The two sides will jointly build a zero-carbon energy system for green shipping and the Canal Economic Belt, and set a benchmark for world-class smart zero-carbon canals. After it is officially put into operation in September, Pinglu Canal will fully implement navigation management for electric ships. The first batch of electric ships to be tested will be equipped with Ningde era marine power battery systems. In addition, Ningde Times will also jointly operate a “battery bank” electricity leasing service with Pinglu Canal Group to effectively reduce shipowners' costs of owning and operating ships. In addition to promoting the electrification of ships, the two sides plan to build wind power stations, energy storage power plants, and microgrids along the canal to supply electricity to the park, port, shipping, and charging and switching facilities. At the same time, the two sides will jointly build an intelligent zero-carbon management system to quantify the carbon reduction performance of ships, parks, and power plant grids.
