The US Embassy in Jordan issued a security warning on the 1st saying that the security situation in the Middle East region is still complicated, and the regional situation may escalate further. The US Embassy in Jordan advises US citizens currently in the Middle East to be on high alert and prepare for possible flight cancellations, phased airspace closures, and travel disruptions. US citizens outside of the Middle East should reconsider their trips to or through that region. The embassy also advised US citizens to avoid going to US military bases in Jordan and “dangerous areas where large numbers of police forces are deployed.”
