Alstom, Partners Reach Financial Close on EUR2 Billion Israeli Rail Project

03:05 AM EDT, 07/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Alstom (ALO.PA)-led consortium reached financial close for a 2 billion-euro 41-kilometer light rail project in Israel, according to a Tuesday release. The French rail and transport equipment company's share in the project is valued at 750 million euros. Alstom will provide design, engineering, supply, integration, testing and commissioning of the rail systems, and long-term maintenance. Alstom's partners in the project, Electra and Minrav, will provide the civil and infrastructure works. A dedicated joint venture comprising Electra Afikim, Minrav and Alstom will handle operations and maintenance. Construction and implementation activities on the project, awarded by Trans Israel in 2024, are expected to progress in the coming years.
