Volvo Group, Daimler Truck Bring Toyota Into Cellcentric Venture

03:35 AM EDT, 07/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AB Volvo (VOLV-B.ST, VOLV-A.ST), d/b/a Volvo Group, entered a binding deal for Toyota Motor (TYT.L) to join cellcentric, its fuel-cell joint venture with Daimler Truck Holding (DTG.F), as an equal shareholder. Under the agreement, the three automakers will each hold 1/3 ownership of the venture, according to a Monday release. The transaction is set to finalize by the end of 2026 or the start of 2027, subject to regulatory clearances. The partnership aims to strengthen cellcentric's technological lead, industrial scale and competitiveness in heavy-duty fuel cell technology.
