The picture shows someone posting “Two reservoirs in Dazhu have just collapsed, big water is ready to come again, everyone will rise to a higher place as soon as possible.” The Hengzhou Municipal Emergency Management Bureau said that after verification, at 11:20 on July 21, Yunbiao Town, Hengzhou City discovered a leak problem with the Baifen Mountain dam in Duzhu Village of the Jiajian Village Committee while carrying out a reservoir safety inspection. In order to quickly contain the dangerous situation and eliminate potential safety hazards, emergency response, water conservancy and other relevant departments immediately organized rescue teams to excavate special drainage channels at the embankment site to speed up flood discharge and reduce pressure on the dam. As of 19:45 on July 21, the water level in Baifen Mountain Pond had dropped by about 1 meter. Currently, the pond is running smoothly. Furthermore, in order to free up storage capacity in advance to welcome flooding from Baifen Mountain Pond, the 6 drains of Duzhu Reservoir in the lower reaches of Baifen Shantang were fully opened to fully discharge water.
