MODEC, Inc. (TSE:6269) shareholders will have a reason to smile today, with the analysts making substantial upgrades to this year's statutory forecasts. The revenue forecast for this year has experienced a facelift, with analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline.
Following the upgrade, the most recent consensus for MODEC from its three analysts is for revenues of US$710b in 2026 which, if met, would be a substantial increase on its sales over the past 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are presumed to bounce 15,443% to US$906. Prior to this update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of US$639b and earnings per share (EPS) of US$878 in 2026. Sentiment certainly seems to have improved in recent times, with a substantial gain in revenue and a small increase to earnings per share estimates.

Although the analysts have upgraded their earnings estimates, there was no change to the consensus price target of JP¥14,733, suggesting that the forecast performance does not have a long term impact on the company's valuation.
These estimates are interesting, but it can be useful to paint some more broad strokes when seeing how forecasts compare, both to the MODEC's past performance and to peers in the same industry. The analysts are definitely expecting MODEC's growth to accelerate, with the forecast exponential annualised growth to the end of 2026 ranking favourably alongside historical growth of 8.2% per annum over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 10% annually. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that MODEC is expected to grow much faster than its industry.
The biggest takeaway for us from these new estimates is that analysts upgraded their earnings per share estimates, with improved earnings power expected for this year. Fortunately, analysts also upgraded their revenue estimates, and our data indicates sales are expected to perform better than the wider market. Given that analysts appear to be expecting substantial improvement in the sales pipeline, now could be the right time to take another look at MODEC.
With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for MODEC going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here..
