12:53 AM EDT, 07/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- IP Group (IPO.L) received a revised takeover proposal from Railways Pension Trustee Co., or Railpen, after the British venture capital and investment firm rejected a previous proposal, according to a July 17 release. Under the revised proposal, Railpen is offering 0.61 pound sterling per share in cash for each share, a pro rata distribution of the company's entire stake in Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT.L), and a potential contingent payment linked to its Metsera holding. The Oxford Nanopore stake was valued at 0.106 pound per IP Group share, while the contingent value right could pay up to 0.113 pound per share by the end of 2029. The proposal is conditional on Railpen forming a consortium, completing due diligence, and securing the unanimous recommendation of IP Group's board. Railpen, which owns an 18.4% stake in IP Group, has until Monday to announce a firm offer or withdraw.
