China Automobile Association: Automobile exports of 5.096 million vehicles increased 65.3% year-on-year in the first half of the year

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to an analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in June 2026, automobile exports increased month-on-month, exceeding 1 million units for the first time in a single month. Passenger car exports grew rapidly year on year, and commercial vehicle exports continued to grow rapidly year on year. In June, 1,037 million vehicles were exported, up 11.6% month-on-month and 75.1% year-on-year. In January-June, exports of 5.096 million vehicles were exported, an increase of 65.3% over the previous year.

In June 2026, 905,000 passenger cars were exported, up 11.7% month-on-month and 80.2% year-on-year. In January-June, passenger car exports were 4.432 million units, an increase of 71.7% over the previous year.

In June 2026, 133,000 commercial vehicles were exported, up 10.3% month-on-month and 46.7% year-on-year. From January to June, 664,000 commercial vehicles were exported, an increase of 32.5% over the previous year.

In June 2026, 514,000 conventional fuel vehicles were exported, up 6.4% month-on-month and 32.7% year-on-year. In January-June, 2.751 million conventional fuel vehicles were exported, an increase of 35.5% over the previous year.

In June 2026, 523,000 new energy vehicles were exported, up 17.2% month-on-month and 1.6 times year-on-year. From January to June, exports of new energy vehicles reached 2.355 million units, an increase of 1.2 times over the previous year.
