On the morning of July 15, the State Defense General Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management continued to organize joint meetings with the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Housing, Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Transport to investigate the recent flood control situation and deploy prevention and response work in key regions. The State Defense General Administration maintains a three-level emergency response for flood control in Liaoning and Jilin, and a four-level emergency response for flood control in Heilongjiang and Shandong. Task forces dispatched by the State Defense General Office continue to assist and guide flood control work in Liaoning and Jilin. Chen Min, director of the State Defense General Office, Vice Minister of Emergency Management and Vice Minister of Water Resources presided over the meeting. The conference pointed out that currently flooding in some rivers in North China, Northeast China and other places is progressing downstream. Defending pressure on embankments and reservoirs is high. There is heavy rainfall in the eastern part of the northwest region, and excessive flooding may occur in some small to medium rivers.
