In June 2026, passenger car production and sales reached 2.373 million units and 2.402 million units, respectively, up 5.9% and 6.6% from the previous year, and down 2.8% and 5.3%, respectively.

From January to June 2026, passenger car production and sales reached 12.721 million units and 12.72 million units respectively, down 5.9% and 6%, respectively.

In June 2026, among the main types of passenger cars, production and sales of the other three types of passenger cars declined slightly, and production and sales of the other three types of passenger cars all increased to varying degrees; compared with the same period last year, production and sales of sports multi-purpose passenger vehicles (SUVs) increased by more than 10%, production and sales of basic passenger cars (sedans) fell by double digits, and production of the other two major passenger car categories increased to varying degrees, and sales declined to varying degrees.

From January to June 2026, among the main types of passenger cars, production and sales of sports multi-purpose passenger vehicles (SUVs) increased slightly compared with the same period last year, while production and sales of the other three categories of passenger cars showed a significant double-digit decline.

In June 2026, domestic sales of passenger cars were 1.497 million units, up 3.7% month on month and down 26.4% year on year.

From January to June 2026, domestic sales of passenger cars were 8.288 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 24.3%.

In June 2026, 905,000 passenger cars were exported, up 11.7% month-on-month and 80.2% year-on-year.
