According to the “2026 Central Enterprise Science and Innovation Analysis Report” recently released by the Smart Bud Innovation Research Center under Smart Ya, judging from the secondary distribution of strategic emerging industries, the R&D focus of central enterprises has been rapidly shifting from the fields of equipment, power grids, materials, etc. in the past five years to the direction of information technology. The report shows that in 2021, in the top 10 strategic emerging industry fields of central enterprise patent applications, only two information technology fields, next-generation information technology networks, emerging software, and new information technology services, were included, totaling about 27,000; by 2025, the number of individual applications for next-generation information networks had reached 69,000. Software services, cloud computing and big data were rising simultaneously, reaching 47,000 and 41,000 respectively in 2025, all of which entered the top three.
