Iran's Ministry of Science reported that joint air strikes between the US and Israel destroyed a total of 154 scientific research facilities in 21 Iranian universities. Key sites damaged include the Tehran Tarasht Space Research Center and the Pasteur Institute. The estimated loss of the country's scientific research infrastructure is about 300 million US dollars. Iran's president's deputy for science, technology and knowledge economy affairs, Hussain Afshin said, “We were developing emerging technology with no military use in the country at the time, but the enemy is deliberately attacking Iran's scientific research system, and we will definitely do our best to complete the reconstruction.” He added, “We are determined to become a technology powerhouse in the world today. Any country that continues to invest in science and technology will eventually succeed.”
