On January 8, local time, recent continuous rainfall in the Philippines caused the soil to become soft at a landfill called Binario. The garbage heap collapsed, and many houses around the landfill were buried. Preliminary reports indicate that about 20 people are trapped. So far, 3 people have been rescued. An office building at the garbage site also collapsed as a result. Allegedly, people were trapped inside the building, and search and rescue work is currently underway.
