The Carolina Panthers will soon start an $800 million makeover of Bank of America Stadium. Stadium renovations and additions will continue through 2030, carried out in phases between NFL and Major League Soccer seasons.

In June 2024, the Charlotte City Council approved spending $650 million in tourism tax revenue to pay for 80% of the renovations at the privately owned stadium. The team’s owners, Tepper Sports, will fund the remaining $150 million while committing to keep both teams at the uptown stadium through 2045.

BofA Stadium opened in 1996 and ranks among the oldest venues in the 32-team NFL. Seating capacity is 74,000.

Improvements will include concourse modernization, new seats on three levels, indoor practice facility, new scoreboard, and more suites.

Tepper Sports is responsible for any cost overruns. The stadium work must be finished by the end of 2030.
