Over the full year, BYD's sales volume in Germany, Europe's largest electric vehicle market, increased sevenfold to 23,306 units, while Tesla's sales almost fell to 19,390 units. BYD is also ahead of Tesla in the UK, Europe's second-largest plug-in car market. BYD surpassed Tesla in September of last year and ended with annual sales of 51,422 vehicles, higher than Tesla's 45,513 units.
