Legend has it that Gaode laid out a world model and set up a specific business department to launch related product applications

Zhitong Finance App learned that according to media reports, Gaode Map, a subsidiary of Alibaba (09988), has laid out a world model and plans to launch a new product application based on the world model. The model has now achieved first results in many indicators in WorldScore, a benchmark for spatial intelligence evaluation. Furthermore, the report said that Gaode has set up a dedicated business department within the company. On the recruitment platform, Gaode has released a number of recruitment positions in the Embodied Business Department, including personalised intelligent product experts and data/algorithm engineers.

According to reports, WorldScore was proposed by the team of famous Chinese artificial intelligence scientist and Stanford University professor Li Feifei. It is also the first open source benchmark to support the unified evaluation of multi-modal world generation models. It is currently the most authoritative open source standard for evaluating multi-modal world generation models. This means that Gaode already has the top ability to understand and simulate the laws of complex physical worlds.

People familiar with the matter revealed that Gaode plans to use the world model as the underlying brain to explore diverse product forms, including humanoid robots and robot dogs, and achieve a leap from digital navigation to physical action.

In August 2025, Gaode announced full AI conversion, all-round shift to spatial intelligence, and launched the local lifestyle product “Gaode Street Sweeper” in September of the same year. This layout is closely linked to Ali Group's AI ecosystem. Recently, Ali Group's latest AI flagship application “Thousand Questions” has taken the lead in connecting Gaode and “Gaode Street Sweeper List”, greatly enhancing the interactive experience of local lifestyle services through spatial intelligence technology.
