Recently, the Department of Taxation of the Ministry of Finance of India issued a notice stating that it accepted the positive preliminary anti-dumping recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India on November 14, 2025 on low-ash metallurgical coke originating in or imported from China, Australia, Colombia, Indonesia, Japan and Russia, and decided to levy temporary anti-dumping duties for a period of 6 months on the products involved in these countries. The details are as follows: China is 130.66 US dollars/ton, Australia is 73.55 US dollars/ton, Colombia is 119.51 US dollars/ton, Indonesia is 82.75 US dollars/ton, Japan 60.87 US dollars/ton, Russia is 85.12 US dollars/ton. The product involved is metallurgical coke with an ash content of less than 18%, excluding ultra-low phosphorus metallurgical coke. Its phosphorus content is as high as 0.030%, and the maximum particle size is 30 mm, which allows a 5% particle size tolerance to be used in the manufacture of ferrous alloys. This measure takes effect from the date this notice is published in the official gazette.
