According to data from the Shanghai Business and Consumer Market Big Data Laboratory, during New Year's Day, the average daily consumption amount in Shanghai was 12.20 billion yuan, an increase of 2.5% over New Year's Day 2025. Among them, the average offline daily consumption amount was 6.49 billion yuan, the same as last year. The average amount spent online was 5.71 billion yuan per day, an increase of 5.5% over the previous year. Monitor the average daily passenger flow of 6.399 million in the city's 35 key business districts, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year. The amount spent by visitors to Shanghai increased by 4.4% and 7.0%, respectively, over the same period last year. The Yangtze River Delta region accounts for a relatively high share of consumers coming to Shanghai, with Jiangsu accounting for the highest share of 21.3%, followed by Zhejiang at 8.9%. Inbound consumption grew strongly. The cumulative number of transactions receiving tax rebates from Shanghai increased 253% year over year, and corresponding tax refund sales increased 132.6% year over year.
