An Air India pilot was found to be “affected by alcohol” during a breath alcohol test before flying a flight from Vancouver, Canada to New Delhi, India on December 23, 2025. The pilot was then urgently replaced and operated by a replacement pilot. According to Canadian regulations, pilots are not allowed to fly an airplane for 12 hours after drinking alcoholic beverages.
