Last week, Terrain Minerals Limited (ASX:TMX) insiders, who had purchased shares in the previous 12 months were rewarded handsomely. The shares increased by 13% last week, resulting in a AU$1.5m increase in the company's market worth, implying a 50% gain on their initial purchase. As a result, the stock they originally bought for AU$234.8k is now worth AU$353.3k.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Terrain Minerals

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Executive Director Justin Virgin for AU$174k worth of shares, at about AU$0.003 per share. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (AU$0.0045), we still think insider buying is a positive. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.

In the last twelve months Terrain Minerals insiders were buying shares, but not selling. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year.
