At 00:07 in the morning of the 1st, the Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant “Hualong 1” Unit 2 successfully passed the 168 hour continuous operation test at full power and was officially put into commercial operation. The Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant plans to build 6 “Hualong 1” units. With 2 units in the first phase of the project being fully put into operation, the base can provide about 20 billion kilowatts of clean electricity every year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 16 million tons.
