Telenor Closes Sale of Pakistan Unit to PTCL

Ltd., or PTCL, completed the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan from Norwegian telecommunications group Telenor (TEL.OL) for 108 billion Pakistani rupees on a cash- and debt-free basis. PTCL, which is 23.4% owned by Emirates Telecommunications Group (ADX:EAND), d/b/a e&, financed the deal through a debt raise, according to a Wednesday release.
