On December 29, local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke again with US President Trump. According to Russian presidential assistant Ushakov, Trump described his meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the Sea-Lake Estate the day before. Trump said that during the meeting, he suggested that Ukraine should not try to get a respite for the frontline forces, but rather concentrate on reaching a comprehensive agreement with a view to effectively ending the conflict. Putin, on the other hand, told Trump during the call that his official residence was attacked by Ukrainian drones, and the Ukrainian side would receive “the harshest response.” Ushakov said that Trump said that this drone attack will affect the way the US works with Zelensky. On the same day, during a meeting with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Trump also confirmed to the media that he was aware of the incident and said he “didn't like this.”
