The 2025 Annual Work Conference of the Controlled Nuclear Fusion Innovation Consortium led by CNNC was held in Shanghai on December 29. Shen Yanfeng, party secretary and chairman of CNNC, stressed that all units in the innovation consortium should always keep in mind the “power of the nation” and systematically promote fusion energy research and implementation of national strategies; vigorously promote scientific and technological innovation, concentrate on building a source of original nuclear fusion technology strategies to drive key technological breakthroughs and systematic development of engineering technology; promote the high-quality construction of a controlled nuclear fusion innovation consortium, consolidate the policy and institutional foundation for efficient operation, and play a better role in the process of building the Shanghai International Science and Technology Innovation Center.
