The Chinese Embassy in Georgia issued a notice on December 29: According to the latest provisions of Georgia's “Tourism Law”, from January 1, 2026, all visitors entering Georgia must purchase travel medical and accident insurance. Insurance can be purchased from any Georgian or international insurance company, and the insured amount must not be less than 30,000 lari. The validity period of the insurance must cover the length of the tourist's stay in Georgia. When entering Georgia, visitors must bring insurance-related documents, covering: the person covered by the insurance contract, the country and region covered by the insurance, the insurance type, the insurance period, the insurance amount, the premium amount, and the time, place, and method of payment.
