This morning, the Nanjing Metro Line 4 Phase II River Crossing Tunnel Project was successfully completed. The total length of the second phase of Line 4 is about 10 kilometers. Starting at Pearl Spring East Station, it extends eastward along Puwu Road and Dingshan Street. It successively passes through the main river section of the Yangtze River, Qianzhou, Jiangxinzhou and Jiajiang. Finally, it is seamlessly connected to the Longjiang Station of the first phase of the project, successfully connecting the three major areas of Jiangbei New Area, Jianye District, and Gulou District to build a new cross-river traffic artery. Among them, the cross-river tunnel section is a key control point for the entire line, and it is also a key project in the layout plan for the Yangtze River Main Line's river-crossing channel. The total length of the tunnel is 3062.6 meters, and it takes a long distance to cross the middle section of the Yangtze River to 2,200 meters. The lowest excavation point is 68.58 meters below the surface of the Yangtze River. This is also the deepest record for the construction of a cross-river subway tunnel in the Yangtze River Delta region. According to reports, this is the third cross-river subway tunnel built in Nanjing. After the opening of the project, the layout of the urban rail transit network will be further improved, greatly improving the efficiency of cross-river travel and making production and life easier for people along the route.
