A speedboat sank in Indonesia's Papua province, 3 people were rescued and 18 people were missing. Local search and rescue office director Kundoli confirmed on December 27 that on the evening of the 24th, a speedboat carrying 21 passengers overturned in the waters of Tanjung Andai in Raimbawi District, Yapeng Islands County, Papua Province, Indonesia due to storms and huge waves. The speedboat was hit by strong winds and waves during the voyage, and eventually capsized and sank at around 20:00 local time. Kundori said that the speedboat was carrying 21 passengers at the time. Currently, 3 survivors have been found by nearby residents. The whereabouts of the remaining 18 passengers are still unknown and are the primary target of the Joint Search and Rescue Team rescue operation.
