The Chinese Embassy in the Congo issued a security situation notice on the 26th saying that in view of the continuing deterioration of the security situation in eastern Congo and frequent armed conflicts, related risks have clearly spilled over, reminding Chinese citizens not to go to eastern provinces such as North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, and Haut-Uélé. The notice also reminded Chinese citizens not to bypass neighboring countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, and the Central African Republic to enter the eastern provinces mentioned above. Currently, Chinese citizens and institutions still staying in relevant regions should pay close attention to changes in the security situation, assess risks as soon as possible, and properly evacuate. The Chinese Embassy in the Congo also warned that Chinese citizens and institutions in other parts of the Congo should be more alert and strengthen security precautions.
