Four people familiar with the matter said that the US Treasury Department has rejected an “offer” by a consortium led by Bank of America Xtellus Partners to acquire Russian Lukoil's overseas assets. Xtellus previously bid with ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Abu Dhabi Group International Holdings. In addition, Hungary's MOL Group and American private equity firm Carlyle Group are also still participating in the bid. The US Treasury declined to comment.
