ArcelorMittal Launches 1-GW Renewable Energy Projects in India

04:02 AM EST, 12/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- ArcelorMittal (MT.AS, MTS.MC) launched three new renewable projects in Amaravati, Bikaner, and Bachau, in India, according to a Monday release. The projects, with a total capacity of 1 gigawatt, will have an expected total capital expenditure of $900 million. Completion of the 36-megawatt solar project in Amaravati is expected in the first half of 2027, while the 400-MW solar project in Bikaner and the 250-MW wind and 300-MW solar capacity project in Bachau will be finalized in the first half of 2028. The new projects, the power from which will be supplied to the steel and mining company's AMNS India joint venture, will boost ArcelorMittal's renewable energy capacity to 3.3 GW.
