This afternoon, commissioned by the State Council, the Audit Office reported to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on the implementation of the 2024 central budget and the rectification of issues identified in other fiscal revenue and expenditure audits. In the fields of people's livelihood such as education and old-age care, a number of issues identified in the 2024 annual audit have been rectified, and the use of livelihood funds in various regions has become more standardized. In terms of education, the Ministry of Education has urged all regions to refine rectification measures, and is supervising many places on the ground to make up for shortcomings in basic conditions for running schools. 1,668 schools in 123 counties have arranged new construction or renovation of school buildings or student dormitories; 108 counties have prioritized funding to make up for shortcomings in school operating conditions, equipped with computer network classrooms, and fully equipped student cafeteria tables and chairs; 110 counties have already returned the original channels and paid 1,374 billion yuan in arrears in subsidies. In the field of pension, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has thoroughly implemented nationwide coordination of basic pension insurance for enterprise employees to support local workers to pay benefits in full and on time; 23 provinces have included 302,700 disadvantaged groups in the scope of pension insurance; 10 provinces have provided additional pension insurance contribution subsidies to 102,700 landless farmers; and 13 provinces have returned 13.083 billion yuan of misappropriated funds.
