According to a CNOOC press release, the Xijiang Oilfield Group 24 development project is located in the shallow water of the Pearl River estuary basin. It mainly relies on the development of existing facilities in the Huixi Oilfield Group to build an unmanned wellhead platform. The project plans to put into operation 10 production wells. It is expected to achieve peak production of about 18,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2026. The nature of the oil is light crude oil. CNOOC owns 100% of the project and acts as the operator.
