Stellantis CEO Says New EU Climate Plan Hampers Investment in Europe

02:25 AM EST, 12/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis (STLAP.PA, STLAM.MI) Chief Executive Officer Antonio Filosa said the European Union's revised climate policy did not include measures for the European automotive sector's growth recovery, making it "very difficult" for the carmaker to consider further investment. The bloc, which proposed ease for automakers in the transition to cleaner transport, did not offer adequate immediate relief measures to facilitate the electric transition of vans and other commercial vehicles, Filosa said in an interview with London's Financial Times published on Dec. 20. There is a lack of clarity on the feasibility of the flexibilities offered to the 2035 petrol ban, Filosa added.
