On the 20th local time, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs released information saying that officials from Turkey, the United States, Qatar, and Egypt held a meeting in Miami on the 19th to discuss in depth the implementation of the first phase of the cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip and related arrangements for the transition to the second phase. Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kechelli said on social platforms that Turkish Foreign Minister Feidan attended the meeting on behalf of the Turkish authorities, jointly assessed the implementation of the first phase of the Gaza Peace Plan with representatives from the United States, Qatar, and Egypt, and exchanged views on the way forward for the next phase. The meeting emphasized that despite numerous violations, the overall cease-fire has continued since the first phase of the cease-fire agreement in Gaza came into effect in October this year, the process of releasing detainees has been completed, and ground clashes have been drastically reduced. The participants also discussed the relevant arrangements for ensuring that Gaza is managed by local Palestinians in the second phase, as well as the implementation steps of the “Peace Commission” and the “International Stabilization Force” proposed in the peace plan. Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kechelli said that during the meeting, Foreign Minister Feidan also exchanged views with officials from many countries on cease-fire efforts in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
