At 11:00 on December 20, as the blasting order was issued, the 500 kV Feixi Substation to Fanchang Substation Line Project in Digang Town, Fanchang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, the Yangtze River Grand Crossing Vietnam Tower collapsed in a loud noise. This transmission tower, which has been in service for 42 years, along with the North Tower, which was first demolished on December 10, officially withdrew from the historical stage, marking the completion of the historic mission of the first 500 kV cross-river transmission line in Anhui Province. The purpose of this blasting and demolition is to “make way” for a new major national power project.
