The Zhitong Finance App learned that the Shatin Magistrates' Court today (December 17) sentenced her to eight months in prison today (December 17) after ruling Wang Yulan (female), the former executive manager of China Quantong (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (China Quantong) in a market manipulation prosecution brought earlier by the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission. She was also ordered to pay the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission's investigation fees.
Judge Shi Zuyao said at the time of sentencing that the crime Wang committed caused a false or misleading impression that China Quantong shares were actively trading. The court stated that Wang had no remorse for his actions. Considering the seriousness of the crime and the need to protect the public investors, the court then sentenced Wang to immediate imprisonment.
